Getting started

Set up PillBox in a few steps: allow notifications, add your first medication, and learn the Today flow.

Welcome to PillBox. Here's how to get set up in a few steps.

Step 1 — Add your first medication

  1. Tap the Medications tab at the bottom.
  2. Tap the + button in the top right.
  3. Start typing the medication name. PillBox suggests matching Australian medicines (from the built-in PBS data) — tap one and the brand, form, strength, and ingredients fill in automatically. No match? Just type the details in yourself.
  4. Set when you take it — a fixed daily time, certain days of the week, or as needed.
  5. Tap Save.

Step 2 — Allow notifications

When you add your first scheduled medication, PillBox will ask for permission to send you reminders. Tap Allow.

If you missed that prompt, you can turn on notifications in iPhone Settings → PillBox → Notifications.

Without notification permission, PillBox can't remind you when a dose is due.

Step 3 — Check the Today tab

Tap Today to see your doses for the day. Anything due soon or overdue will be at the top, with Take and Skip buttons.

That's it — you're ready to go. When a dose is coming up, you'll also see it on your lock screen and can act on it there — see Reminders, sounds, Live Activities & widgets.
